The Cattolica Aquarium , inaugurated in 2000, is today the largest aquarium in the Adriatic and extends over a surface area of over 110,000 m2. The visit route, completely covered, allows you to discover over 3,000 specimens of 400 different species housed in 100 large display tanks containing 2.5 million litres of sea water. The four colours are the key to understanding the routes of the Cattolica Aquarium , intuitive and immediately recognisable, they lead the public to an easy identification of its product.
The Blue Route represents an incredible journey through all the seas of the globe and is home to more than 400 different species , from penguins to sharks, not forgetting turtles, jellyfish, rays and the most spectacular tropical fish.
The Yellow Trail offers the thrill of discovering freshwater streams, home to the adorable otter pups, inside brand new structures that faithfully replicate their natural habitats.
The Green Path hosts many species of rare insects and reptiles , while, through the Purple Path , guests can listen to the incredible sounds of the sea . Thanks to the educational nature of the structure that aims to spread respect for the marine environment and the creatures that populate it, the Cattolica Aquarium is very popular with families with children.
